1. Purpose

The Reviewer Registry is a private database maintained by ABRF to connect manuscript authors and journal editors with qualified technical reviewers from the core facility and biomedical research community. Access is limited to individuals affiliated with this community.

2. Who May Register

Registration is open to:

  • Core facility directors, managers, and staff
  • Academic and industry researchers in the life sciences
  • Individuals with relevant technical expertise in areas covered by the skill catalog

By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you are a legitimate member of the scientific community. Accounts created with false, incomplete, or misleading information may be suspended or deleted without notice.

3. Acceptable Use

You may use this platform to:

  • Maintain your own reviewer profile and skill listing
  • Search for reviewers with specific technical expertise
  • Contact reviewers through information they have made available in their profile
  • Export reviewer data if you have been granted export access by an administrator
4. Prohibited Uses

The following are strictly prohibited:

  • Spam or unsolicited contact. Reviewer contact details may not be used for mass mailings, marketing, solicitation, or any communication unrelated to manuscript or grant review.
  • Commercial use. Reviewer data may not be sold, licensed, or used for commercial prospecting, recruiting, or lead generation.
  • Automated scraping. You may not use bots, scripts, or automated tools to extract data from the platform.
  • Unauthorized export. Only administrators and nominated export users may download the reviewer list as CSV. Sharing exported data outside your organization without authorization is prohibited.
  • Impersonation. Creating an account in another person's name or on their behalf without their consent is not permitted.
  • Interference. Any attempt to disrupt, degrade, or circumvent the security or access controls of the platform is prohibited.

Violations may result in immediate account termination and, where applicable, reporting to your institution or relevant professional body.

Your data is not shared with third parties, sold, or used for advertising.

7. Who Can See Your Data
  • All registered users can search profiles and view name, institution, role, skills, and manuscript experience.
  • Email and phone number are visible to registered users on the search page.
  • Administrators (up to 5) have full access to all profile fields and can manage accounts.
  • Export-nominated users (up to 5, designated by an administrator) can download the full reviewer list as a CSV file including email addresses.

If you do not wish your contact details to be visible, contact an administrator to have your account removed.

9. Security

Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes and are never stored in plain text. Access requires authentication; administrative functions require an administrator account. The platform is served over HTTPS. While reasonable security measures are in place, no system is completely secure. Users should choose strong, unique passwords and report any suspected unauthorized access to an administrator immediately.

10. No Warranty

This software is provided as-is for the benefit of the ABRF community. The operators make no guarantees regarding uptime, data accuracy, or fitness for any particular purpose. Use of the platform is at your own risk.

These terms may be updated at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
